Free judiciary

Submitted by David Borden on
Here in Canada we have a free and independent Judiciary that is appointed by members of the bar and they serve till they retire.Recent decisions by the courts have sent a message to the police that the day where a cops word was taken as fact and anything the police did was law,are over. There have been two recent cases where the cops tried an end run around the judicial system by attempting to run a RICO style law past the court. In both cases they were denied and the judges were none too kind about the way these cases were handled. The public, god bless em,were outraged and just couldn't see why the cops should have to obey all these rules when the criminals didn't.That's why we have a separate judicial system in this country. When I was addicted to heroin and trying to keep the big ape off my back I had a slightly different opinion of the judiciary but then they were a totally different group back then. Most were ex army and ww2 vets and they would as soon shoot you as lock you up but then all they could do was lock us up for long stretches for simple possession. Now all those defence lawyers and prosecutors that saw the way the police would lie, plant evidence and what really pissed them off was the way the rats could act with impunity while they were often the worst of the lot,are on the bench. The public screams and the politicians, vile creatures that they are jump right on the band wagon.Today the chance of having a letter published in the letters section of the local papers(two with one owner)are just about zero. The judges know that prohibition is a failed and useless policy that is killing far more people that any drug ever could. That the public is blind to the glaringly obvious connection between alcohol prohibition and what is happening right now eludes me.
